The 2023 launch of Fercullen 21 Single Malt marks the arrival of our second batch of aged malt with a delightful sherry influence. In the process of selecting from the array of available whiskeys, Paul Corbett opted for an elevated sherry influence to harmonize with and offset the bourbon wood notes originating from the 2001 distilled malt whiskey. The final outcome is a nuanced blend of rich, sherry-infused fruit flavours juxtaposed with the refreshing, creamy elegance of ex-bourbon matured whiskey.
Bottled once again at 46%, non-chill filtered and with natural colour.
Nose:
Honeydew melon, lychee, rich vanilla fudge, pear drops and soft leather.
Taste:
Vanilla fudge with dried fruits, dark chocolate with orange oil, cracked hazelnuts.
Finish:
Sweet fudge, candied cherries, fruit cake and drying-spices.
