Bray Jazz Festival returns for its 21st year this May Bank Holiday. The event has been described as “one of the very best small jazz festivals in Europe,” and Powerscourt Distillery are delighted to be involved!
The May Bank Holiday weekend, 29th Apr to Monday 2nd May will see many live jazz music events happening in Bray and further afield. To show our support and sponsorship of this great event we’re delighted to be hosting an afternoon of Latin Jazz at Powerscourt Distillery, to mark the event and the opening of our “Fercullen Whiskey Lounge”.
So come along and enjoy a Fercullen cocktail and some memorable music! The event is free!
The Live Music event will take place on Sunday, 1st May, from 1.30pm to 5pm at The Powerscourt Distillery Visitor Centre, and will feature live music with two great four-piece bands – ‘Loco Swing,’ led by saxophonist Antonello D’Orazio, and the Luisa Annibali Band led by a great Dublin based jazz singer.
Loco Swing
Loco Swing are Ireland’s sassiest gypsy jazz band playing jazz and swing classics of a bygone era.
Led by Italian saxophonist, flautist and clarinet player Antonello D’Orazio, the quartet draw their inspiration from the up tempo jazz of the 1920s and 1930s. Their repertoire includes jazz classics from a golden age, while they also put a gypsy jazz twist to some contemporary hits.
Luisa Annibali Band
Exploring jazz, neo soul and the music of Brazil, singer Luisa Annibali’s music is mellow, exotic, warm and soulful.
Playing her favourite jazz classics, bossanova standards and some traditional jazz tunes from her Italian home, Luisa is a talented singer and composer who’s music is both uplifting and extremely groovy.
