St Brigid’s Day 2024 at Powerscourt Distillery
The Powerscourt Distillery Celebrates St Brigid’s Day with a Feast for the Senses
The Powerscourt Distillery is set to honour Ireland’s patron of brewing, healing, poetry and fire with an immersive St Brigid’s Day event on Sunday, 4th February, our third annual celebration of the feast. Taking place in the distillery visitor centre, it will encompass the spirit of Brigid herself; the day will be ablaze with cultural enrichment, from poetry readings to sessions with wellness experts and the spark of innovation from leading business and community figures.
Attendees will be treated to craft and food demonstrations, engaging tastings, enlightening talks, and hands-on masterclasses and workshops. In a symphony of live music, guests will also dip into the Irish language during the ‘Cupla Focal agus Fercullen’ session, craft St. Brigid’s crosses and witness weaving demonstrations. A series of tastings featuring Fercullen whiskey, mead, wine, and beer, along with expert led whiskey masterclasses, will ensure that the spirit of conviviality flows as freely as the spirit of Brigid on the day.
Curated by Santina Kennedy, Advocacy, Food and Beverage expert at The Powerscourt Distillery, expressing her enthusiasm, stating, “St Brigid’s Day is a celebration deeply rooted in our heritage. We’re bringing that essence into the experience with a menu that pays homage to the Saint’s connection with dairying, brewing, and bountiful hospitality. Expect a day where tradition meets taste, and every flavour tells a story.”
Kennedy adds: “We’ve woven an event that’s not just about enjoyment, but also enlightenment – reflecting the legacy of St Brigid, who was renowned for her hospitality and generosity. It’s a day to savour the good things in life and ignite the passion within us all”.
